Australian Law Students' Association Conference 2024 – Australian Academy of Law Paper Presentation Competition Hobart, Australia
Sunday, 14th July 2024
It’s the Gala Dinner and Awards ceremony—a night dedicated to celebrating and recognizing the remarkable competitors from the week’s conference competitions, with Kiwis shining in three Competition Finals. The highlight for us was the Paper Presentation, where Sameer Mandhan (VUWLSS) was crowned the Grand Champion for the 2024 AAL Paper Presentation. Unfortunately, Sameer could not attend the event as he had to fly out on Sunday for work commitments—truly a champion! The next challenge for him will be to see if he can achieve the double by winning the NZLSA Paper Presentation competition in August in Christchurch.

It’s lunchtime on campus at University of Canterbury and what better way to celebrate than a BBQ! This one is a little different- not a sausage in sight. LexisNexis New Zealand was pleased to sponsor this event for LAWSOC - The University of Canterbury Law Students' Society & the Asian Law Students Association.
On a cold winters day what is better than marinated beef (or tofu) in a locally baked French bread. A great effort as the team marinated the beef 3 days prior to the event - that’s commitment!
Topped off with your choice of LexisNexis socks or playing cards - the lunchtime event was a huge success - well done team!
